Love, Lies & Legacy- chapter 10

CHAPTER 10

"Where have you been?" asked Jesse, sounding relieved and concerned at the same time.

"Oh…coffee…" I said, forcing a smile. Luckily Lexy was nowhere to be seen and a sense of respite came through me.

"Just do not take off like that next time," he said with a kiss on my hair. I could see Julez staring at me in a way that made me uneasy. As Jesse went into the dressing room, Julez came closer to me.

"You're drench in Mont Blanc cologne. You were with somebody, a boy to be exact," she said while crossing her arms.

"Yeah," I said in a low tone.

"Who's the boy," she asked sternly.

"I don't know. I didn't get a chance to ask for his name," I said while taking a seat on one of the sofas. Even though I did not know his name, I remembered a lot of details about him like his mismatched eyes, cocky smile, his adorable dimple, his sexy accent and his last words to me. Maybe those last words are a clue to discovering who he is. Why was I so fascinated about this boy when I already have a hot body boyfriend so sweet and charming?

I woke up early the next morning, too lazy to face the day. I slowly got out of bed, making sure not to wake up Jesse who was sleeping so peacefully next to me. I put on my silk robe and opened the curtains to be awakened by the beautiful scenery of Paris. I soaked up the morning rays and watched as it shined the Eiffel tower. After washing my face, I tide my hair up in a high ponytail and took my laptop from the bedside table to check my email.

I sat cross-legged on the bed while taking a sip of my Evian. Dad sent me an email asking me whether I was having fun and if everything was ok. I glanced at Jesse who was sleeping face down; his scar proudly displayed and could not help but smile. I replied to my dad saying everything was more than ok. Everything was perfect.

He devoured in vain her eternal crimson soul in the twilight of Bucuresti… Sadly, those words were still planted in my mind. I had to figure this out. What is that boy trying to tell me? It was completely stupid because I am most probably never going to see him again. I did not even know his name.

So I was going to figure out this twisted riddle and put an end to all this confusion. Devoured? As in eat? Take something whole? Engulf? Since that was going nowhere, I tried the other words.

Eternal crimson soul? Something that lasts forever? Something constant? Soul… our soul is something we have and need in life. Without it we are nothing. So what last forever, is unlivable without it and is crimson?

"Blood," I whispered to myself. It made sense, its crimson, last forever and we're lifeless without it. Now it was the task of connecting blood and devoured. Who devours blood? Then it hit me vampires suck blood. So what is the link between vampires and this boy? The boy could not be a vampire, its ridiculous. I goggled the word Bucuresti and link everything together. Then everything started to add up. At last my mind was at peace.

Suddenly I felt a pair of hands circling my waist as I sat. Jesse placed his chin on my thigh and I placed my arm around his head. "Good morning, my sweet American."

"Good morning my naughty Brit boy," I said while kissing his forehead.

"What are you doing?" he asked in a husky tone, trying to adjust to the ray of light seeping threw the window.

"Checking my email," I said hesitantly. I did not want to tell Jesse about my mystifying encounter with a puzzling boy and the fact I just cracked his peculiar riddle.

"Oh! Does your father know I'm sleeping with you? God is there anything that man does not know?" he said with a grin. I laughed at his comment. Even early in the morning, Jesse's sarcasm is on full blast.
